Jessie J shut down “untrue” and “unfair” reports that she dissed ex-boyfriend Channing Tatum in her new breakup anthem.
In a lengthy message posted to Instagram on Thursday, the pop star was adamant her new single, “Thew It Away,” had nothing to do with the actor.
“I NEVER said it was, the headlines are so dramatic and mean.”

“The reason I am saying something is because I know if the shoe was on the other foot, he would correct the narrative too,” Jessie, 37, added.
“He is a dad and an amazing one, and I would never want his beautiful daughter to ever read any of it, or be told about it, thinking I said it about her dad,” she continued, referring to his and his ex-wife Jenna Dewan’s 12-year-old, Everly.
“Not fair. Channing and I ended our relationship on great terms, and I have nothing but respect for him.”

Jessie referenced the lyrics in her track that read, “Don’t you dare rewrite the story / I’m the beauty, you’re the beast.”
“He was never a beast to me,” she wrote. “And I am not ok with some of the media just dragging his name for clickbait. Right, let’s move on now.”
The “Price Tag” songstress and Tatum, 45, were romantically involved in an on-again, off-again relationship from 2018 to 2020.

Last week, the US Sun reported that the “Price Tag” songstress made it clear that she was singing about Tatum, 45, while performing her “Don’t Tease Me With A Good Time” album breakup track in West London.
“This next song I wrote in 2020 with Ryan Tedder,” Jessie said, adding, “and you can figure out who I was dating.”
The “Domino” hitmaker sang about “put[ing] [her] heart on the table.”

”But oh that karma is gonna come one day / ‘Cause I gave you my love and you threw it away,” the lyrics read.
After Tatum, the Grammy nominee moved on with athlete Chanan Colman in 2021, and they share a son together.
As for the “Magic Mike” actor, he started dating actress Zoë Kravitz and the duo called off their engagementlast year.
