Survivor Series should have laid the first building blocks of anticipation for WrestleMania, and this show just didn’t do enough.
Yes, we got a mystery man in the men’s WarGames match, a good idea who CM Punk’s next title challenger will be and the next beat in the story between Becky Lynch and A.J. Lee.
But with little at stake in the cage matches themselves, the winners and losers in front of an announced crowd of 46,016 at Petco Park on Saturday did not really matter, didn’t change too much and shows a flaw in how WWE is approaching this.
What we did get was the surprise return of Liv Morgan, who helped Dominik Mysterio win his Intercontinential championship back from John Cena in a match fitting of his final PLE outing.
