In America, at least 47 million people are living with hunger. They may not know when their next meals will be, or they may be skipping breakfast and lunch to make sure their kids can eat dinner. In this Opinion Video, dozens of people from across the country describe their daily struggles to feed themselves.
Hunger in America has been rising, but the Department of Agriculture has seemingly stopped tracking it. In September, the department announced that it would end the Household Food Security Report, which helped to quantify hunger in America. You can’t end hunger by simply ignoring it. And now it’ll be harder than ever to find the many people in America who need help the most.
