‘Good riddance!’ MAGA lawmaker cheers MTG’s resignation

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) announced her resignation from Congress Friday evening, and one MAGA lawmaker is openly celebrating the news.

“Good riddance,” wrote Rep. Randy Fine (R-FL) Friday evening in response to Greene’s announcement that she’d be resigning from Congress in a social media post on X. “One antisemite down. One to go.”

Fine and Greene have publicly attacked each other in the past over their differences on Israel, specifically on the manner in which it’s carrying out its military siege on Gaza.

Fine has openly celebrated Israel’s siege on Gaza, having called for Gazans to continue to “starve away” amid Israel’s aid blockade. Greene has lashed out at Fine over his incendiary comments in the past, calling him “disgraceful” for having backed Israel’s aid blockade amid rising famine deaths in the Gaza Strip.

Fine has also drawn the ire of Democratic lawmakers over his incendiary comments, getting into a feud with Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY) over his praise of Israel amid its siege on Gaza, with Torres calling Fine a “bloated, braindead, blithering idiot” that had “no business being in Congress.”

Greene announced her resignation late Friday evening amid escalating tensions between her and President Donald Trump, who had recently withdrawn his endorsement of the once feverishly pro-Trump lawmaker over her continued backing of efforts to force the Justice Department to release its files on Jeffrey Epstein, the disgraced financier who died in 2019 awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges.
