A suspect in an assault was arrested Sunday by Metro Transit Police and later died while in custody, the transit police said.
After being arrested on a warrant at the Anacostia Metro station, the man became unresponsive. Medics were called and the man was taken to a hospital, where he died, the transit police said.
The man was not identified by name, and no age or cause of death was given.
The incident is being investigated by the D.C. police, as is standard procedure, the transit police said.
