MARSHALL COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — Marshall County is gearing up for a busy and exciting fall fishing season, with Lake Guntersville once again serving as the backdrop for several major tournaments.

In 2024, fall fishing tournaments generated more than $951,200 in economic impact for the region, and 2025 is expected to surpass that total with a full lineup of events scheduled to take place.

The season begins with the 2025 SPRO Frog Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 27, at Civitan Park. Anglers will check in the day before and must register by Tuesday, Sept. 23.

On Saturday, Oct. 4, Civitan Park will also host the Riverbend Tournament, featuring high school and junior division anglers.

The Gerald Swindle Big Bass Classic, part of the national Big Bass Tour, returns to Guntersville State Park Oct. 9–12. With $175,000 in guaranteed prizes, hourly weigh-ins, youth divisions and early entry giveaways, it’s one of the most anticipated tournaments of the season.

Youth competitions continue with the Alabama Student Angler Bass Fishing Association tournament on Nov. 1 at Guntersville State Park, and the Alabama Bass Nation Youth and High School Tournament on Dec. 6 at Civitan Park.

Looking ahead, Marshall County Tourism and Sports will also host Stage 1 of the 2026 Bass Pro Tour on Jan. 15–18 at Lake Guntersville. The event will be held at Civitan Park.

Lake Guntersville will also be the first stop for the Major League Fishing Toyota Series. The series will be held February 18-20, 2026 at Lake Guntersville State Park.
