EXCLUSIVE: Alex O’Loughlin, the actor best known for his staring role as Detective Steve McGarrett in CBS’s reboot of Hawaii Five-0, has signed with Independent Artist Group for representation.
Airing for 10 seasons between 2010 and 2020, Hawaii Five-0 is based on a police procedural that ran on CBS from 1968 to 1980. The show focuses on an elite, specialized police task force that combats major crimes on the islands of Hawaii, including murder, organized crime, drug trafficking, and terrorism. The team operates with a high level of autonomy, often working directly under the authority of the Governor of Hawaii.
O’Loughlin’s McGarrett is a former Navy SEAL who is appointed to lead the Five-0 task force. In addition to starring on the show, he wrote and directed multiple episodes.

Prior television credits for O’Loughlin include the lead of CBS’s weekly medical series Three Rivers, as well as the CBS/Warner Bros. television show Moonlight in which he played the role of Mick St. John. Notable film credits include The Back Up Plan opposite Jennifer Lopez and Joel Silver’s Whiteout opposite Kate Beckinsale for Warner Bros.
