Savannah Guthrie has spoken out following the news that her mom Nancy Guthrie, 84, is missing in Arizona.
The “Today” anchor, 54, skipped Monday’s episode of the NBC morning talk show. Sheinelle Jones took her place alongside Craig Melvin at the 7:00 hour.
But a statement from Savannah was shared on the show regarding her mom being missing.
“On behalf of our family, I want to thank everyone for the thoughts, prayers and messages of support,” the statement read. “Right now, our focus remains on the safe return of our dear mom.”
“We thank law enforcement for their hard work on this case and encourage anyone with information to contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department at 520-351-4900,” Savannah added.
A spokesperson for the Guthrie family told The Post in a statement, “We can confirm this is a missing persons case, and the family is working closely with local law enforcement. If anyone has any information, please contact the Pima County Sheriff’s Department at 520-351-4900. The family is grateful for the outreach, thoughts and prayers.”
Nancy was last seen at her home in Catalina Foothills, north of Tucson, at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday and was reported missing the next day, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Office.
The 84-year-old was described as being in “not of good physical health” and a “vulnerable adult.”
At a press conference, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos stated that one of Nancy’s relatives made a 911 call around noon Saturday to report her missing.
Homicide detectives were also scouring the elderly woman’s home, which was not standard protocol for a missing person case, authorities said.
“We’ve pretty much thrown everything at this as we can,” Nanos said about the search mission. “I don’t need to tell you, this is very concerning to us; we don’t typically get the sheriff out on a scene like this but it is very concerning.”
Nanos added that there’s “grave concern” for Nancy wellbeing.
Nancy has made various guest appearances on “Today” over the years since Savannah joined the show in 2011.
Savannah was just absent from “Today” for several weeks to recover from vocal chord surgery.
She returned to the show Jan. 23 and shared a segment that documented her journey with her voice, including the moment she cried over hearing her new voice for the first time.
“I’m so grateful to all of you at this place and my bosses at NBC, who have been nothing but supportive. To take three weeks off is a big, big deal,” she said while on the show. “I’m so grateful to be back, and I’m ready to go.”
