Taxpayers footing the bill for Eric Trump as he heads to Europe for ballroom discussion

Donald Trump’s ballroom obsession is not limited to Washington, D.C., where the East Wing of the White House was torn down to make room for the structure, with the cost exploding since the day he announced his plans.

According to a report from the Independent, middle son, Eric Trump is slated for a “jaunt” to Ireland next week to lobby for approval of a “spectacular” new ballroom at the family’s golf resort — and taxpayers will be on the hook for paying a substantial amount of the bill as he conducts family business.

The report notes that Secret Service costs for agents’ lodging will cost, at a minimum, $21,449.01, and that is just the start, the report notes.”

The Independent’s Justin Rohrlich is reporting, “Eric once claimed that the family business let the Secret Service stay at their hotels for free or at cost. However, an investigation by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, a D.C. watchdog nonprofit, found Trump properties usually charged the Secret Service “above typical rates, including for Eric Trump’s own travel.”

Taxpayers will also be footing the costs of “salaries, air travel, meals and local transportation,” while Donald Trump’s son conducts family business.

“Eric is playing a ‘pivotal role’ in erecting a 13,000-square-foot ballroom at Doonbeg,” Rohrlich is reporting with Eric Trump mirroring his father’s DC plans by boasting, “It is spectacular,” and that the planned structure will be “the nicest ballroom in the country.”
