‘Dementia Don back at it’: Trump again fuels rumors of cognitive decline with flub

Rumors swirled again Friday as a confused President Donald Trump repeatedly mixed up “Southern Boulevard” and the “southern border” during an event in which a street was renamed after him.

A section of Southern Boulevard in Palm Beach County, Florida, was ceremonially renamed “President Donald J. Trump Boulevard,” with a dedication event held Friday at Mar-a-Lago.

During the event, Trump tried to brag about his accomplishments at the southern border. Instead, his gaffes fueled speculation about his cognitive health.

“Starting on day one, we fully secured our Southern Boulevard and stopped the – and think about it, as we were securing Southern Boulevard, making Florida great, we’re also securing a thing called the southern border, and making that great,” he said.

Critics called out the flub on social media, with some decrying it was evidenceof dementia.

Richard Donelan, retired principal senior assistant special counsel, wrote on X, “Wernicke’s aphasia.”

Liberal YouTuber Vince Wilson chimed in, “Trump’s dementia showing for the millionth time.”

X user Sharon S Brown wrote on X, “He’s thinking of himself in Sunset Boulevard.”

Liberal political commentator Corbin Joseph wrote on X, “Dementia Don back at it.“

Comedian Hal_For_NY__ chided on X, “He tried to play it off like he meant to do that.”
