Comments Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made about President Donald Trump’s diet during a new interview on a right-wing podcast caused the host to burst out laughing.
On Tuesday, Kennedy appeared on Katie Miller’s eponymous podcast, where she often discusses soft life and culture topics with right-wing figures. Previous guests include Elon Musk, Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
The interview got a little spicy after Miller asked Kennedy who in the White House has the most unhinged eating habits.
“The president,” Kennedy said, as Miller started laughing. “The interesting thing about the president is that he eats really bad food, which is McDonald’s… and Diet Cokes. He drinks Diet Cokes all the time. He has the constitution of a deity. I don’t know how he’s alive, but he is.”
Trump has said that he prefers eating fast food because he is concerned about getting poisoned.
“He says that he only eats really bad food when he’s on the road,” Kennedy continued. “He eats the food from big corporations because he trusts it, and he doesn’t want to get sick. But when he’s at Mar-a-Lago or the White House, he’s eating really good food.”
Kennedy’s comments come at a time when questions continue to swirl about the president’s health. His bruised hands and swollen ankles have been well documented, and Trump has admitted to taking a battery of cognitive exams during his second administration.
Trump’s eating habits also seem to be at odds with Kennedy’s policies at the Department of Health and Human Services. The Make America Healthy Again Commission, which Kennedy leads, released a report in May that said fast food is “damaging the health of American children.”
“This crisis results, in large part, from decades of policies that have undermined the food system and perpetuated the delivery of unhealthy food to our children,” it added.
