Rep. Stephen Lynch (D-MA) used a Republican hearing on alleged daycare fraud in Minnesota to express his outrage at what he said was the illegal renaming of the Kennedy Center.
“I just want to say from this committee, this investigative committee, if we’re really looking for fraud, if we’re truly looking for fraud,” Lynch told the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday, “we don’t need to go far. I can even suggest the address 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. If we’re looking for fraud in this country, that’s a great place to start.”
“Last month, President Trump put his name on the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts,” he continued. “And it is shameful. It is a case of stolen valor for this president to put his name above the name of John F. Kennedy.”
“That is a fraud being perpetrated on this country right now! And if we’re really interested in rooting out fraud, how about starting right there?”
