‘Stranger Things’ Has Ended. What Happened in the Series Finale?

Dungeons & Dragons. The Upside Down. Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill.” Eleven, Dustin, Lucas, Will, Mike and Max!

“Stranger Things,” the nostalgic hit Netflix show that infectiously mixed homage and horror, concluded its fifth and final season last week.

Were you a fan? If so, what will you miss most about the series? Do you think the finale lived up to the hype — or did it leave you wanting more?

Why do you think a television show set in the 1980s resonated so deeply with young people today?

If you’re not a big “Stranger Things” fan, what shows do you love instead? Do you have a favorite TV finale of all time?

Tell us in the comments, and then read a recap of the finale, as well as an essay on how the series defined an era and a look back from the cast on how the show shaped them.

Students 13 and older in the United States and Britain, and 16 and older elsewhere, are invited to comment. All comments are moderated by the Learning Network staff, but please keep in mind that once your comment is accepted, it will be made public and may appear in print.
