The Issue: Investigations into the day-care and welfare fraud scandal in Minnesota.
No one can tell any right-thinking American that Gov. Tim Walz knew nothing about these outrages (“Walz ‘turned a blind eye’ to suspicions: pol,” Dec. 30).
I suggest that Walz be removed from office and held accountable, and that Rep. Ilhan Omar and other Somali scammers should be denaturalized and deported back to Somalia.
There better be action taken to protect our country, the tax-paying citizens and our way of life.

After Minnesota, the next time someone in the news on the left or right says something like “we have to act in order to protect ‘our democracy,’ ” the rest of us owe it to ourselves to consider the possibility that the “democracy” they mean is one that uses taxpayer dollars to appease groups of voters who tend to cast ballots as they’re told.

There are so many state and federal officials being investigated for fraud and other crimes, costing taxpayers a fortune.
Many people say they’re tired of hearing about the fraud and are tired of subpoenas and hearings, when there are never any arrests and convictions that follow — I agree.
All we ever hear is “we can fix it and make sure it doesn’t happen again.” Give me a break — I’m so sick and tired of hearing that phrase.

There’s been a widening scandal in Minnesota of billions given to dummy day-care centers in a sanctuary city with politicians who are liable for knowing about it.
Those involved should be prosecuted to the fullest, and those who acquired citizenship under false pretenses should have them revoked immediately then be deported. What’s worse, all sanctuary cities may be plagued by the same crimes.

Follow the money; let’s see where it went. The theft of taxpayer funds meant to help the underprivileged is nothing new.
There’s the mysterious disappearance of $1 billion that the Bill de Blasio regime somehow “lost” that was supposed to help mental-health recipients, for instance. There had to be political fixes involved. Those thieves need to be thrown into prison.

The Issue: Gov. Hochul’s support for Mayor Mamdani’s multibillion-dollar universal-child-care plan.
How much fraud, corruption and waste will go on in Mayor Mamdani’s child-care program (“Kat pushing for Zo’s child care,” Dec. 29)?
First, I think there will be “nonprofits” to oversee it; $2 million here and $5 million there will go to groups who just “spread the word.” Then, phony day cares will get more millions. And Mamdani and his administration? I bet they’ll fill their pockets with millions; their playbook is Minnesota.
It’s already working as stupid puppet Gov. Hochul can’t give Mamdani support fast enough.

So, Hochul is pushing for a multibillion-dollar, tax-funded universal child-care program, claiming “Mamdani is going to surprise a lot of people.”
She’s going to be surprised when she discovers too late that the wealthy residents expected to finance this program will have fled New York.

The time a mother spends with her young child is priceless for both the mother and child.
Raising taxes to pay for universal child care will make New York more expensive for those who don’t benefit from it.
Higher costs will force mothers who want to stay home with their children to join the workforce. “Free” child care is not free for them.
