Body found in search for missing Texas teen Camila Mendoza Olmos – remains to be ID’d in ‘next day or two’

A body was found in the search for missing Texas teen Camila Mendoza Olmos on Tuesday, nearly a week after she vanished from her home on Christmas Eve, according to authorities.

The medical examiner has yet to confirm the identity of the body, which was discovered in a field close to Olmos’s home during a search by sheriff’s deputies and FBI agents, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said in a press conference late Tuesday.

Salazar added that authorities have discovered information leading them to believe that Olmos, 19, was experiencing suicidal ideations and exhibited signs of depression.

He added it appeared Olmos “was a young person going through a very tough time in her life.”

The sheriff said he hopes the ME’s office will identify the remains “in the next day or two.”
