Pet Owners, How Do You Deal With the High Costs of Grooming?

Most U.S. households have pets, and owners are willing to spend more on them, too.

Whether you have a dog or a cat, pet grooming, for example, can be costly — even for rudimentary jobs like a simple clipping. That’s partly because the industry has evolved a lot since the days when grooming your pet meant a short cut and a flea bath. Now, pet owners can ask to have their pets fluffed, powdered and even styled like a teddy bear. All of this comes with higher costs — but prices have gone up, even for pet owners who want just the regular trims.

The New York Times wants to know how you’re dealing with rising pet grooming costs. We will not publish any part of your response without following up with you first, verifying your information and hearing back from you. We won’t share your contact information outside The Times’s newsroom or use it for any reason other than to get in touch with you. We will read all submissions.
