President Donald Trump made some strange comments as he took phone calls from his southern Florida abode, Mar-a-Lago, during a Christmas celebration on Wednesday.
Trump participated in the NORAD Santa Tracker phone calls on Christmas Eve from Mar-a-Lago, taking calls from children across the country. The president’s comments during one interaction raised the eyebrows of several political analysts and observers.
During one call, a child asked Trump how he was doing. The president replied, “I’m doing fine,” before making a questionable comment.
“You sound so beautiful and cute,” Trump said. “How old are you?”
“I am eight,” the caller said.
The comments were made at a time when new revelations from the recently released Jeffrey Epstein files paint Trump’s relationship with the disgraced financier in a new light. In one of the files, Trump is said to have flown on Epstein’s private plane at least eight times, even though the president has claimed he was never on the aircraft. The files also connect Trump to the death of a newborn baby.
Political analysts and observers shared their thoughts about the call on social media.
“Trump is truly doing everything humanly possible to not beat the ‘allegedly raped young girls’ allegations,” Jason Karsh, who worked for both of Obama’s election campaigns, posted on Bluesky.
“Usual suspect,” progressive YouTuber Jack Cocchiarella posted on X.
