Demon deer rampages through Long Island neighborhood, ramming cars and ‘knocking’ on front door

A “crazy” deer terrorized a quiet neighborhood in suburban Long Island during a three-day rampage where it rammed into cars — and even eerily “knocked” on one terrified woman’s front door.

The demon white-tailed deer had residents of Lake Ronkonkoma on edge beginning Saturday nights as it ran amok, damaging property but managing to elude capture before it turned up dead, cops and residents said.

“It ran all over the place for days, smashed right into my neighbors pick-up, ran up another’s deck, and smashed into fences and poles too,” resident Tom, who asked to withhold his last name, told The Post of the maniacal mammal.

Patricia Mudaro said the deer was using her lawn as a resting spot when the state Department of Environmental Conservation and the Suffolk County police unsuccessfully tried to capture the displaced animal on Sunday.

“He was just laying there — and then once the police officer tried to approach it, he just got up and went on a rampage,” Maduro said.

Authorities chased the deranged deer up and down the quiet block as it ran into brick walls and fences but eventually escaped Sunday afternoon, neighbors said.

“It was pretty pathetic to watch,” said one neighbor, who asked not to be named.

Another neighbor said he felt helpless as he watched the “crazy” deer ram his pickup truck, leaving a dent before taking off as police followed.

However, the chaos was far from over as the deer returned to Mudaro’s home the very next night — knocking into her front door just before 9 p.m. and startling her into calling the police.

“I thought my house was being broken into,” Mudaro told The Post.

Once cops arrived, another chase ensued — this time leading into a nearby strip mall, where late-night employees of a smoke shop were left feeling like they were high. The workers saw three or four cops on foot in hot pursuit of the deer through the parking lot.

“I thought I was tripping,” Happy Daze employee J.R. quipped.

He said the officers eventually got a rope-like device around the animal’s neck and brought it over to the side of Portion Road.

It’s not clear if the deer was euthanized or died of other causes but witnesses said they saw the lifeless body of the animal taken away by authorities Tuesday morning.

“I had to go to church after all of this,” Maduro said of the demon deer.
