Donald Trump has a “tone deaf” video circulating on right-wing networks, and it’s “already catching up to him,” according to a GOP insider on Saturday.
Brendan Buck, a former key adviser to ex-House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI), appeared on MS NOW over the weekend to talk about a video of Trump promoting his line of watches. In late November, Buck flagged a key detail about a MAGA lawmaker’s recent resignation that he says should “give a lot of Republicans pause.”
On Saturday, the strategist was asked by the host if the “cringey” video was “tone deaf.”
Things like this, Buck said, are “all good and fine when things are doing well.”
Trump did similar advertisements during the election, and it “seemed unbelievable but he still got elected,” according to Buck, who stressed that things are different now.
“But when things are not going well, and you’re doing stuff like this, and you’re building the ballroom and you’re traveling around to, you know, you’re spending time at soccer announcements, like, is this person locked in on the things that I care about? And I think it will actually I think it already is catching up to him. I’ll say that. I think that’s part of why his poll numbers are tanking, because he doesn’t seem focused.”
