1 killed, another injured in shooting at MGM National Harbor

Prince George’s County police confirmed the death of one man and the injury of another at MGM National Harbor hotel and casino late Wednesday morning.

Officers responded to a shooting at about 11:55 a.m. in the food court on the premises, where one man was found dead and another man had a graze wound, police said. Police Chief George Nader didn’t release the name of the deceased victim but said officers believe him to be in his 20s.

Police said detectives are working to determine the circumstances of the shooting but believe the act wasn’t random.

“We have not had crimes like this at the National Harbor,” Nader said. “Crime in MGM and National Harbor, violent crime, is down 32 percent this year.”
