A 34-year-old woman in San Bernardino County was arrested for attempted murder after a fight broke out over the weekend at a house party, leaving several people injured, authorities announced.
In a news release, officials with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said the violence erupted just before 3 a.m. on June 22 at a Victorville home in the 13000 block of Maywood Street.
Investigators said that the suspect, Angelica Riojas, a resident of Apple Valley, was standing outside her vehicle, waiting to pick up her brother when she was reportedly confronted by another female that escalated to a physical altercation.
“As Riojas walked away to get in her vehicle, several individuals continued to follow and punch her,” officials said. “While inside her vehicle, Riojas produces a box cutter, injuring multiple subjects.”
SBSD deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to the residence on reports of multiple stabbings and learned that the 34-year-old had already fled the scene.
Authorities said two victims suffering multiple injuries were located at the scene and rushed to the hospital, while additional victims self-transported to the hospital.
The condition of the injured victims was not immediately available.
Riojas, later found at a hospital herself, was taken into custody and booked at the High Desert Detention Facility in Adelanto on attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon charges, officials said.
Investigators did not provide any information about what led up to the confrontation, nor did they say if anyone else was arrested in connection with the incident.
