Deadline has finalized the first batch of shows that will participate in Contenders Television, its annual two-day panel showcase that kicks off the TV awards season. It is set to take place April 5-6 at the DGA Theater in Los Angeles.

A total of 17 series have been confirmed so far for the annual event, which shines a spotlight on the stars and creatives behind the season’s most talked-about TV dramas, comedies and limited series. More shows are expected to be added, and the roster of panelists will be announced later this week.

The event is live at the DGA both days, and will be livestreamed. Click here for more information and to register.

So far, this year’s lineup includes previous Emmy Best Series winner The Handmaid’s Tale from Hulu and Best Series nominees like Severance from Apple TV+ and Wolf Hall from Masterpiece on PBS.

Additional titles include ABC’s High Potential, AMC’s Anne Rice’s Interview With a Vampire, Apple TV+’s Dope Thief, CBS Studios’ Matlock, Disney+’s Out of My Mind, Hulu’s Good American Family and Mid-Century Modern, Onyx Collective’s Deli Boys, and Prime Video’s The Better Sister and Cross.

Contenders Television will be followed later this season by Contenders TV: Documentary + Unscripted, which focuses on the year’s best in nonfiction programming. That virtual ceremony will take place on Saturday, April 26.

The 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards‘ Creative Arts ceremony is set for September 6-7, with the main ceremony September 14 live on CBS.

This year’s Contenders Television is sponsored by Eyepetizer and Final Draft in partnership with Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea.
