“Real Housewives of New York City” star Sai De Silva admits her castmate Jenna Lyons was not the “bitch” she expected her to be.
“Jenna is not a very smiley person in her photos and she has this very stand-offish, almost coldness to her photos,” the content creator says on Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast.
“When you look at her photos, you kind of just think she has to be a bitch, right?”
But De Silva, 42, was delightfully surprised to discover that Lyons, 55, was anything but when cameras started rolling last year for Bravo’s rebooted version of its Big Apple-based “Real Housewives” franchise.
“Like, she is a boss, she grew J.Crew, she’s been there for 26 years,” she says of the esteemed fashion executive, who left the brand in 2017 and now runs a false eyelash company called LoveSeen.
“A woman who’s extremely successful, you automatically think, ‘She must be a bitch,’” De Silva elaborates. “It’s terrible to say and I’m guilty of saying that and I apologize because I want to take it all back now.”

In fact, the Brooklyn resident says the “very kind, very, very sweet” Lyons — with whom she made a Tuesday appearance on the “Today” show — has become one of her closest friends among the “RHONY” crew.
“I just had a conversation with her last night because I was so pissed off about something and I was dropping so many F-bombs and she was talking me off the ledge,” De Silva tells us. “So she is a good friend and she is a great voice of reason.”
The fashion influencer, who launched her lifestyle blog Scout the City more than a decade ago, says she and Lyons, of course, bonded over their sartorial sensibilities — even if they are vastly different.
“We both love and appreciate one another. I think her fashion is amazing. Her fashion looks phenomenal on her and my fashion is peek into my personality,” says de Silva, who describes herself as a “chameleon” with “evolving” taste.
“I’m more on the digital side and what she does is completely different from what I do,” she acknowledges, though she understands the magic of their friendship likely lies in their “opposite” natures.
“We’re so different, but we work really well together.”
“The Real Housewives of New York City” Season 14 — also starring Brynn Whitfield, Ubah Hassan, Jessel Taank and Erin Lichy — premieres Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
