Jenna Bush Hager reflected on an old diary entry of hers from high school where she had encouraged herself to âholdâ onto her virginity.
âI also had a looking at myself in the mirror and hoping Iâd be able to save my virginity post,â she admitted on Wednesdayâs episode of âToday with Hoda & Jenna.â
The talk show host immediately made co-anchor Hoda Kotb and guest Amy Poehler burst out laughing over the “embarrassing” journal entry.
âI was just worried in ninth grade that I wouldnât have the wherewithal to hold it, you know?â Bush Hager, 41, said while shrugging and laughing.
Poehler, 51, joked that in the entry, she told herself âyou can do it, you can hold it, hang in there, youâre so close!â
“What if you’re not able to do it Jenna?!” Bush Hager joked about her younger self.

Bush Hager didn’t elaborate on the “truth” of losing her virginity, but she admitted it was still an “embarrassing post to look back at.”
The threesome were playfully discussing the topic of rereading old diary notes they wrote years ago when Bush Hager agreed to tell Poehler her most embarrassing entry if she said hers.
âI think a lot of mine is about relationships, and I think a lot of mine is just, you know, the amount of love I gave to a person that was maybe not the right person to give [it to],â Poehler said before Bush Hagerâs confession.
Bush Hager ended up not having much to worry about when it came to her dating life, as she met future husband, Henry Chase Hager, in 2004.
Henry proposed â after asking Bush Hagerâs dad, former President George W. Bush for permission â in 2007, and they tied the knot in May 2008.
The lovebirds share three kids together: daughters Mila, 10, and Poppy, 7, and son Hal, 3.
“Today with Hoda & Jenna” airs weekdays at 10 a.m. ET on NBC.
