Lady Gaga was spotted in New York City Saturday filming for her role as Harley Quinn in the upcoming sequel “Joker: Folie à Deux.”
In the scene, the award-winning entertainer, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, was filmed on the steps of the New York County Supreme Court in downtown Manhattan.
She was flanked by troops of cops, amidst a crowd of people. Many of them were seen carrying picket signs like “Free Joker.”
Gaga, 36, wore a bright red blazer and underneath it was a top with the familiar black-and-white diamonds that are a trademark of Quinn’s usual costume.
The wardrobe also included a black leather mini-skirt and black stockings adorned with diamond shapes.
The sequel to the critically acclaimed “The Joker,” is being directed by Todd Phillips, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Scott Silver.
Quinn is a character that was originally created as comedic relief for the villainous Joker.
Her origin story is that she was a psychiatrist at Gotham City’s Arkham Asylum and went by the name Dr. Harleen Quinzel.
