The husband of murdered Microsoft executive Jared Bridegan’s ex-wife was indicted on first-degree murder charges on Thursday for the February 2021 slaying.
Mario Fernandez Saldana, who was arrested in Kissimmee, Florida, is currently married to Shanna Gardner-Fernandez, Bridegan’s ex-wife, according to First Coast News.
Gardner-Fernandez and Bridegan shared two children and were in a contentious custody battle shortly before his killing.
Bridegan was slain in front of his 2-year-old daughter Bexley, who he shared with his current wife, in 2021.
The executive noticed a tire in the road and pulled over to remove it, while he was gunned down in what police said was a planned ambush. Little Bexley was in the backseat and alone in the car for a few minutes until a passerby noticed her father dead on the road and called 911.
Fernandez Saldana’s arrest happened just a few hours after Henry Tenon pleaded guilty to second-degree murder charges in the killing, First Coast News said.
How Tenon and Fernandez Saldana worked together remains unknown.
