Before allegedly punching a sound man and damaging $12,000 worth of equipment at Nebula early Wednesday morning, rapper Travis Scott also got into it with the DJ.
In a video obtained by Page Six, Scott is heard yelling, “Back the f–k up,” and seemingly pushing a DJ who was trying to adjust the sound.
According to sources, Scott had the volume turned up too loud, which created distortion, before the “Sicko Mode” rapper flew into a rage.
Following his altercation with the DJ, Scott went up to the sound man and started “yelling aggressively in his face on why he lowered the sound,” said a shocked witness. “Then he smacks the soundman right across the face.”
“It caused a big commotion between Travis’ security and club security,” the source continued. “After that, Travis took the phone from one fan” — who was recording the night’s performance by another rapper, Don Toliver — and allegedly “threw the phone on the floor,” the source said.
Scott also allegedly went ballistic on the venue’s equipment.
A source tells us that the “Goosebumps” rapper, “punched one of the speakers and dented it, that’s how hard it was.”
And that he also, “broke the video screen behind the DJ booth.”
Another source described the wild scene by saying, “He was banging on the projector screen really aggressively and broke it in half.”
A source noted that the terrifying tantrum all happened in about 10 minutes.
“Travis came in angry and intoxicated and progressively went postal,” a source told Page Six.
Cops were called to the venue, and a complaint was made. Scott has not been arrested in connection to the alleged incident.
Scott’s lawyer, Mitchell Schuster, said in a statement, “While this is clearly a misunderstanding being blown out of proportion by clickbait and misinformation, we are actively working with the venue and law enforcement to resolve and set the record straight. We are confident our client will be cleared of any wrongdoing.”
Nebula’s managing partner, Richie Romero, said in a statement: “This is blown completely out of proportion. It was a great night.”
Scott — who shares two children with makeup mogul reality star Kylie Jenner — has been tied up in various legal issues in years past, including pleading guilty to disorderly conduct in 2018 stemming from an incident at an Arkansas concert the year prior.
He was also charged with inciting a riot in May 2017, to which he pleaded not guilty.
Ten people died during a stampede at his 2021 Astroworld Festival in Houston. A civil case has been filed by 2,800 victims against Scott and Live Nation for negligence.
Both Scott and Live Nation denied the allegations and any wrongdoing.
