Louis Tomlinson is gearing up for the release of a new documentary that follows his journey from a One Direction member to a solo artist amid the British boyband’s extended hiatus.
The 31-year-old English singer-songwriter announced Wednesday his new project, a documentary titled “All of Those Voices.”
“This has been something I’ve been working on for years, I’m really excited to finally put it out into the world. I’ve said it a million times but I’m lucky enough to have the greatest fans an artist could wish for, and as you always go above and beyond for me, I wanted to share my story with you in my own words,” the “Back To You” singer wrote on Instagram alongside a poster for the feature-length documentary.
The documentary will explore the singer’s recent journey, including the release of his solo music, his solo tour and fatherhood.
“‘All of Those Voices’ takes a refreshingly raw and real look at Louis Tomlinson’s musical journey. Ditching the typical glossy sheen of celebrity documentaries, this film gives audiences an intimate and unvarnished view of Louis’s life and career,” the film’s description read.
Although a trailer has yet to be released, it is possible that clips from Tomlinson’s One Direction era may be included in the documentary. The official announcement said “All Of Those Voices” will consist of never-before-seen home footage recorded in the years leading up to Tomlinson’s sold-out 2022 world tour.
“From the highs of superstardom to the lows of personal tragedy, Louis’ story is one of resilience and determination. The film explores his journey from a member of One Direction to a solo artist, capturing the challenges and triumphs that defined his path,” the announcement continued. “The film shows a side of Louis that fans have never seen before, as he grapples with the pressures of fame and the weight of his own voice.”
Back in 2015, Tomlinson and the other remaining One Direction members Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Harry Styles announced that they were going on hiatus as a band to focus on individual projects, with Horan assuring fans that they were “not splitting up.”
Tomlinson, who is now a father to a 7-year-old son named Freddie, also wrote at the time, “It’s just a break. We’re not going anywhere!!”
But several years later, they have yet to reunite as a group and continue to focus on solo projects. Tomlinson has since released two studio albums, 2020’s “Walls” and 2022’s “Faith in the Future.”
“All of Those Voices,” which marks the first documentary Tomlinson filmed since One Direction’s “This Is Us” in 2013, will be directed by Charlie Lightening, the award-winning helmer of Liam Gallagher’s “As It Was,” and produced in partnership with 78 Productions and Trafalgar Releasing, Variety reported.
Tickets will go on sale at www.allofthosevoices.com starting on Feb. 22. The documentary will be released on March 22 in select theaters worldwide for a limited run.
