Chelsea Handler did not hold back during her first day as a guest host on The Daily Show. After welcoming the audience to Monday night’s (Feb. 6) episode and explaining, “This is where I get to spend a week talking shit about all the wackjobs and hot messes out there,” the comedian happily annihilated none other than Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.
After poking fun at the Chinese spy balloon which was shot down in South Carolina over the weekend, Handler said, “In other exciting news, Marjorie Taylor Greene, a.k.a. Capitol Storming Barbie, hates her job — which is so funny because the rest of us also hate her having her job.”
The guest host couldn’t help but roll her eyes while referencing a recent interview in which the Republican politician revealed that becoming a member of Congress has made her life “miserable” and complained about the “demanding” job which is “practically year-round.”
“First of all, you’re not a regular person, you moron! You’re a congressperson because you campaigned and somehow won, which requires you to work year-round,” Handler said. “I also don’t want to work year-round, and that’s why I don’t.”
Handler went on to quote Kim Kardashian’s controversial Variety statement as she advised Greene to get her “fucking ass up and work,” before also suggesting that if she doesn’t like her current job, “then go work at Foot Locker, bitch.”
However, the former Chelsea Lately host added that those comments were “not even the worst part” of Greene’s interview. In response to the congresswoman’s claim that people come up to her and say “crazy things of the blue in public places that they believe because they read it on the internet,” Handler joked, “Well if that’s not the pot calling the kettle QAnon.”
She continued, “This woman thought that 9/11 was a hoax, that the Clintons killed JFK Jr. and that Jews are in charge of space lasers. But please, don’t come at her with some crazy ideas — she might believe them.”
