Don’t want to mess up your Sunday night groove? Don’t worry. Episode 5 will also premiere on HBO’s linear channels Sunday, February 12.
Titled “Endure and Survive”, the episode is a callback to something Ellie says to Joel in the game. After a big battle, she quotes Savage Starlight, the comic that she’s been reading, saying: “To the edge of the universe and back. Endure and survive.” This upcoming episode will serve as a part two for the Kansas City chapter of this show.
Why Will The Last of Us Episode 5 Premiere on Friday?
It’s all because of the Super Bowl. The Chiefs versus the Eagles starts on Sunday, February 12 at 6:30 p.m. ET. The game’s expected to last for about three and a half hours, which cuts into The Last of Us‘ typical Sunday night block. By moving this week’s episode to Sunday, HBO is choosing not to compete with football’s biggest night.

After this week, The Last of Us will return to its normal schedule. Episode 6 will premiere on Sunday, February 19. New episodes will premiere on Sundays until this season’s finale on March 12.
