Russell Westbrook is believed to be on the block, and several teams could take the bait. However, the Miami Heat does not appear to be a plausible landing spot for him, especially if Kyle Lowry is in the picture, according to a report.

The Heat has “little regard” for swapping Lowry for Westbrook, Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports reported, citing unnamed league personnel.

Lowry, 36, is due to receive $28 million this season and then $29 million in the next one. Westbrook, on the other hand, is in the last year of his $47 million deal with the purple and gold.

Due to this, it may be safe to say that Lowry is unlikely to move to Los Angeles. But if the Heat is bent on moving the six-time NBA All-Star, there could be other takers.

One team mentioned is the Los Angeles Clippers, which could use a veteran playmaker like Lowry.

Another team that could make sense for the 24th pick of the 2006 NBA Draft is the Brooklyn Nets. With Kyrie Irving requesting a trade, Lowry could become part of a potential exchange.

Lowry has not been having a stellar season so far with the Heat, and it would be wise for Miami to see if there are takers.

As for Irving, it remains to be seen if the eight-time All-Star will be moving soon, the earliest possibility of which is this week before the NBA trade deadline Thursday.

Irving sat out the Nets’ game against the Washington Wizards Saturday due to right calf soreness, the Associated Press reported. This added fuel to the fire that the 30-year-old guard could be parting ways with the Nets soon.

The Clippers recently became the latest team to join the bevy of teams showing interest in Irving, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported, citing unnamed sources.

They joined the Lakers, Phoenix Suns and the Dallas Mavericks, who have been engaging with the Nets since Irving’s trade demand Friday, according to the sources.

International Business Times could not independently verify this information.

If Irving ends up with the Clippers, it would reunite him with head coach Tyronn Lue. They worked together when they were still with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Lakers are reportedly Irving’s preferred destination, and the player most likely to be given up is Westbrook. However, the Nets may seek more than the former NBA MVP, with pundits suggesting that Brooklyn may ask for future first-round picks (2027 and 2029) as part of the deal.
