Conor McGregor assaulted a female acquaintance and even threatened to drown her, the alleged victim has claimed.

The incident happened on McGregor’s yacht after the Irish mixed martial arts champion celebrated his birthday on the Spanish island of Ibiza on July 16 last year, regional newspaper Ultima Hora reported.

McGregor, who had turned 34 two days prior, allegedly began to insult the unnamed victim and criticize her appearance the following morning while McGregor’s longtime partner, Dee Devlin, was asleep.

“All of his behavior changed, and he became very aggressive,” the alleged victim, identified only as a 42-year-old Irish woman, said in her police complaint.

McGregor, without any provocation, then kicked the victim just below her navel, punched her on the chin and threatened to drown her, she alleged.

“I’m going to drown you, who do you think you are?” McGregor said, according to the woman.

In response to the attack, the victim jumped into the water and was rescued by a Red Cross boat that took her to a medical center.

She identified her attacker as McGregor while talking to attending lifeguards, who also confirmed seeing the MMA fighter.

However, the woman later told agents of Spain’s Civil Guard that the assailant was not McGregor.

The victim was reportedly still in shock at the time and wanted to return to Ireland.

She only provided testimony to police upon reaching Dublin.

While the woman’s complaint in Ibiza was provisionally archived last year because she did not formalize it with the Civil Guard on the same day of the incident, proceedings in the criminal case have been reopened after the complaint from Dublin was sent to Spanish authorities.

The Spanish investigation, which is running parallel to the civil case in Ireland, is handled by a court in Ibiza.

A judge will take a statement from the complainant in the coming weeks and possible witnesses before deciding whether McGregor should be tried for injury.

McGregor has dismissed the accusations against him.

“Mr. McGregor is steadfast in his denial of all the accusations made by a guest on his boat,” the MMA fighter’s spokesperson, Karen Kessler, told ESPN Tuesday in a statement.

McGregor has been accused of assault, rape and robbery, among other things, in the past.
