William Saliba officially made his debut as an Arsenal this past August in an opening-day away game against Crystal Palace.

It was a fitting debut for the French football player who joined Arsenal way back in 2019.

Better yet, his performance drew praise, a reason why he has been drawing attention and making heads turn.

One team that has taken notice is Paris Saint-Germain.

It appears the Parisiens have taken interest in the 21-year-old center-back with reports from Media Foot that PSG has made contact with the handlers of Saliba.

However, snagging the French national will not be easy for PSG as Arsenal is expected to work on extending the contract of Saliba in the coming weeks since he is still on the same deal he agreed to back in 2019.

Saliba is set to enter the final 18 months of his contract by next week, a reason why teams like PSG are checking on the availability of the 21-year-old center-back.

No less than PSG chief Luis Campos has his sights set on the center-back, someone who he hopes to acquire by the summer of 2023.

Furthermore, it seems Saliba is open to the idea of moving to PSG.

A reason pointed out for this is that he feels that a move to a top club in France would increase his chances of being a starter for Les Bleus at Euro 2024.

Given those scenarios, it remains to be seen what Arsenal will do.

Aware of the potential of Saliba, the Gunners are unlikely to let him go easy.

For one, Saliba is one of the biggest reasons why the Gunners are at the top of the table.

Moreover, je has proven himself to be among the top defenders in the English Premier League this season, meaning the French player is an integral part of Arsenal future.

Until then, Saliba is expected to focus on his current stint with the Gunners.

Saliba could be present when Arsenal faces West Ham on Monday, December 26 in Premier League action at the Emirates Stadium.

Saliba has started all 14 of Arsenal’s Premier League matches to date, and there were initial doubts on whether he would be available following last week’s World Cup Final.

“Let’s see,” Mikel Arteta said previously in a report by The Mirror. “We have the data of what he’s done in training and in terms of the actual minutes. When he gets back, we’ll make the decision.”
