Meghan Markle was intentional about wearing mainly “muted tones” while living in the United Kingdom.

“I rarely wore color,” the “Suits” alum recalls in the third episode of Netflix’s “Harry & Meghan” docuseries, which dropped Thursday.

“There was thought in that,” Markle, who began her relationship with Prince Harry in 2016, explains. “To my understanding, you can’t ever wear the same color as Her Majesty [Queen Elizabeth II] if there’s a group event.

“But then you also should never be wearing the same color as one of the other more senior members of the family,” the former actress continues. “So I was like, ‘Well, what a color that they’ll probably never wear? Camel? Beige? White?’”

Markle, 41, says her primary goal was to “blend in,” noting, “I’m not trying to stand out here. So there’s no version of me joining this family and trying to not do everything I could to fit in.”

The “Archetypes” podcast host, who says she did not want “to embarrass the family” with her wardrobe, also highlights a moment in which she branched out in an orange gown at the Salute to Freedom Gala in New York City in November 2021.

The event came after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex quit their royal roles and left England for Canada and ultimately the United States.

The couple have been living in Montecito, Calif., since 2020 with their son, Archie, 3, and their daughter, Lilibet, 1.

In March of the following year, Harry, 38, and Markle spoke to Oprah Winfrey about their decision in a bombshell interview, addressing her suicidal thoughts and concerns voiced by a senior royal family member about their eldest child’s skin color.

Markle, who is biracial, and the former military pilot go similarly in depth in their new show.

“I’m not gonna say that it’s comfortable,” she says in a confessional in the first episode.

“But when you feel like people haven’t gotten any sense of who you are for so long, it’s really nice to be able to have the opportunity to let people have a glimpse of what happened and also who we are,” she explains.

The final three episodes of the Liz-Garbus directed series will drop on Dec. 15.
