Too Hot to Handle is back on Netflix for its fourth edition, and there are 10 hot new singletons in the cast.
The infamous show sees a group of people sign up to what they think is a regular dating show set in a tropical location, oblivious to the fact that they are taking part in Too Hot to Handle until the truth is revealed.
Too Hot to Handle puts contestants’ willpower to the limit as they need to stick to the rules and abstain from sexual contact to form meaningful connections and keep any prize money. Breaking the rules (by kissing, heavy petting, sex or self-gratification) will result in a deduction from the final amount.
The show producers have to trick the contestants into taking part, and in 2022, the fake dating show that the cast think they are on is called Wild Love.
Netflix has even enlisted the help of television legend Mario Lopez to make the completely made-up series seem more legitimate to the contestants.
Too Hot to Handle encourages contestants to get to know themselves more by taking part in various workshops and introspective activities. The winner, or winners, are whoever achieves the most growth throughout their time on the show.
In 2021, the contestants started with $200,000 in their cash-prize pot. Winners Harry Johnson and Beaux Raymond ultimately took home $90,000 after various deductions were made by virtual assistant Lana, voiced by comic Desiree Burch, who oversees the show and makes sure the singletons are sticking to the rules.
