Kanye West’s exes—Kim Kardashian, Irina Shayk, and Julia Fox—were all under the same roof on Monday, as they attended the Council of Fashion Designers of America Fashion (CFDA) Awards in New York City.
The women were among a host of celebrities who made their way to Casa Cipriani New York for what is widely described as the fashion industry’s equivalent of the Academy Awards.
And while each turned heads with their choice of ensemble, it was also notable that each of the three stars has been romantically linked to beleaguered rapper and fashion designer West, who has legally changed his name to Ye.
Kardashian, 42, made a daring arrival at the event, stepping out in a form-fitting black latex strapless evening dress, under which she appeared to wear a bodysuit from her SKIMS shapewear brand.
The reality star and businesswoman began dating West, 45, in 2012, before going on to tie the knot with the musician in a ceremony in Florence, Italy, in May 2014. In February 2021, after having four children with West, Kardashian filed for divorce, and she was declared legally single in March 2022.
Russian supermodel Shayk, 36, also commanded attention at the CFDA Awards, arriving in a sleeveless black turtleneck top, which she teamed with a high-waisted cream pleated skirt featuring a black sheer panel.
After his split from Kardashian, West was romantically linked to Shayk, with the two being photographed together in France on the Yeezy founder’s birthday in June 2021.
Their relationship went back over a decade. Back in 2010, Shayk was seen sporting CGI angel wings in the video for West’s hit single “Power”—and was even name-checked in his fashion-themed track “Christian Dior Denim Flow” in 2010.
They would reunite professionally in 2012, when Shayk hit the catwalk at West’s Fall/Winter 2012 presentation at Paris Fashion Week.
While they were united in fashion, the reported romantic side of West and Shayk’s relationship ended soon after it started. Shayk was on Monday photographed with actor Bradley Cooper, 47, with whom she shares 5-year-old daughter, Lea De Seine.
Uncut Gems star Fox, 32, joined the festivities at Monday’s CFDA Fashion Awards, sporting a black floor-length gown that was cut completely open from bust to thighs, with black lingerie underneath.
Fox enjoyed a romance with West soon after meeting him in Miami at a New Year’s Eve party, where they rang in 2022 together.
They enjoyed highly publicized dates in New York City, Los Angeles and Paris before announcing their split on February 14, 2022. Hours after their announcement, Fox said that she “wasn’t in love” with West.
“I have love for him for I wasn’t in love w the man Jesus Christ what do u guys think I am 12 years old?!” she said on Instagram.
During his relationship with Fox, West made public statements about wanting to reunite with Kardashian.
At the event on Monday, Kardashian had much to celebrate, as she received the inaugural Innovation Award for her shapewear brand SKIMS.
During her speech, Kardashian called for more body-shape inclusivity in fashion, according to U.K. newspaper the Independent.
“We have put a strong emphasis since our launch on continuing to shape the industry to embrace size equality and diversity as a fixture, and not just a trend, and I see so many of you are doing just that,” said Kardashian, who was supported by her mom, Kris Jenner, and sisters Khloé Kardashian and Kendall Jenner.
Celebrity presenters on the night included Martha Stewart, Kerry Washington, Amy Schumer, Trevor Noah and Christina Ricci. Musician Lenny Kravitz, 58, received the CFDA’s Fashion Icon Award, which was given to actor and model Zendaya in 2021.
