Kate Upton sent some shade towards Gisele Bündchen and Tom Brady with her declaration of love and support for husband Justin Verlander after he won the World Series with the Houston Astros.
The 30-year-old model interrupted a live TV interview with pitcher Verlander, 39, after the Astros beat Philadelphia Phillies 4-1 in game six to take the series 4-2.
Verlander was speaking to Alex Rodriguez, David Ortiz, Kevin Burkhardt and Frank Thomas in a postgame Q&A when Upton arrived to celebrate with her husband and their 3-year-old daughter, Genevieve.
Echoing the situation that faced Brady at the end of last season, Verlander was asked whether now was the time to walk away or whether he had another year in him.
While Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Brady decided to retire, before reversing that decision for one more season, at the age of 45, Verlander was emphatic that it wasn’t time for him to quit just yet and his wife Kate couldn’t have been more gushing in her support.
Brady has experienced a torrid start to the NFL season, which he is playing over the background of his divorce from Bündchen.
Upton was happiness personified as she gatecrashed the postgame party and declared on TV: “I love watching my husband do what he loves to do.”
She then said that she had done, “A-plus cheering.”
Verlander only returned to the mound in April after missing the 2021 following Tommy John surgery, correcting his UCL.
Upton said on camera: “It’s such an incredible experience, I mean, having Justin home, and being able to be together as a family is so amazing, and then to go to the exact extreme, and be here at the World Series … it’s just so exciting.”
Verlander said about his wife and daughter: “This is my crew. These two got me through it.”
The couple then shared a kiss, much to the delight of the TV presenters and their loved-up display did not go unnoticed on social media, with many making comparisons to Brady and Bündchen’s situation.
With the video circulating on TikTok, one user commented: “Tom Brady is like was this a different package for the supportive super model.”
While another added: “Tom Brady sending this to his wife [laughing emoji]”
There were many that posted in support of Brady, but one commenter did point out that there could be some correlation between his divorce and his decision to not retire after promising he would do so.
One TikTok user pointed out: “He made a promise to her. He broke it. Period.”
It has been quite a week for Verlander and Upton as the day before sealing the World Series at Minute Maid Park in Houston, they celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary.
Upton posted on Instagram: “5 years down… forever to go! Life with you never gets old. I love you @justinverlander. Happy Anniversary!”
Heart Bingo’s certified relationship expert Dr. Callisto Adams has told Newsweek of the kind of person that might attract Tom Brady, if he decides to get back into the dating game following the end of his 13-year marriage.
Adams said: “Considering the fact that the divorce has been recently announced, Brady will need to take his time before he gets back on the dating scene.
“An overwhelming emotional state can easily blur the sense of judgment which often leads to regretful decisions.
“Tom Brady’s surface seems to embrace the traditional standard of masculinity. It wouldn’t be too difficult in thinking of compatible partners for Brady.
“Someone with a down-to-earth personality mixed up with feminine traits would be compatible. A good match would be with someone calm with a mature outlook on life. Someone too immature or bubbly would likely clash with Brady’s personality.”
