One boy’s “adorable” reaction to his mom’s “puppy surprise” has gone viral on social media.
The boy’s mother, @lhughes05, posted the sweet moment to TikTok, writing: “This will forever be a favorite memory.” The video has amassed over 8 million views and more than 15,000 comments from viewers who said the video was the “cutest” they’d ever seen. You can watch the full video here.
The video opens with @lhughes05 placing a mini Goldendoodle puppy in her son’s bed while he sleeps. She attempts to wake him by stroking his cheek, but it doesn’t work. So, @lhughes05 moves the dog closer to her son’s head, who finally wakes up once the puppy starts licking his face.
@lhughes05’s son looks confusedly at the dog and his mother, but once he realizes what’s going on, he wraps the Goldendoodle in his arms.
“Is this our puppy?” @lhughes05’s son asked with a hopeful smile on his face. “From the pet store?”
When @lhughes05 confirms that the puppy is theirs, her son excitedly rolls over and gives the puppy another gentle hug.
All About Goldendoodles
According to Hill’s, a pet food company, Goldendoodles are excellent family dogs.
“Goldendoodles love people and also get along great with other pets, and they tend to be patient and gentle with young children—making them a fantastic choice for families,” Hill’s said on its website.
Meanwhile, The Spruce Pets added that Goldendoodles are “natural athletes” and make the “best playmates.”
“Energetic and playful, Goldendoodles love to exercise,” the website said. “They’re happy to laze around on the sofa (and they make great cuddle buddies), but agility is where they shine. These dogs are great companions for active families.”
