Wordle can sometimes leave you scratching your head; here’s some help with today’s.

Wordle‘s rules are simple, players use a color-coded system to work out what the day’s answer is and input five letters into the six rows.

A green tile means the letter chosen is correct and is in the right place, a yellow one means the letter is right but in the wrong place while a gray square indicates that the letter is not in the word at all.

Players have six attempts to solve the five-letter word.

Wordle’s creator Josh Wardle shared the game with the public in October 2021 after he first created it as something he and his partner could enjoy.

The game registered a humble 90 players on November 1, 2021, and has since gone on to become a globe-spanning phenomenon with millions taking part every day.

Wardle previously told Newsweek he was first built a prototype of Wordle in 2013, and was later inspired by an online New York Times game.

“The idea to impose a limitation came when my partner and I started getting into crosswords during the pandemic. In particular, The New York Times have this puzzle called “Spelling Bee”, which has this once-a-day model that I thought was really effective.

“I liked the idea that everyone around the world was trying to solve the exact same word at the exact same time. It created a shared communal experience [If] there were multiple puzzles to solve and everyone was at a different stage, then there wouldn’t be that kind of conversation, which I think is the most fulfilling part of Wordle.”

After Wordle started to rise in popularity, The Times stepped in to buy the game for an undisclosed seven-figure sum back in January. While the publication spent a lot of money on the purchase, the game remains free to play.

For those who want to know the answer to today’s word puzzle, please continue reading until the end of the article.
