Reality TV royalty has finally returned for Season 2 of their hit Hulu show, The Kardashians, and aside from the drama-packed first episode, the show teased what’s to come for the remainder of the season. Let’s just say there’s a lot to unpack, including that $100 million defamation lawsuit filed against the family.

While the preview for the season did not specify exactly who was suing the family — more specifically Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner — we all know about that $100 million lawsuit Blac Chyna filed against the bunch.

In the teaser, a worried Khloé says, “We are leaving our fate in the hands of 12 random people. What if they hate us?” while Kris, through tears, admits, “It scares the shit out of me.”

Here’s everything we know about what went down between Rob Kardashian’s ex-girlfriend and his family:

What is Blac Chyna’s connection to the Kardashians?

As many may remember, Rob, the only brother in the family, confirmed his relationship with the model in 2016, and, after only a few months, blindsided his family with a marriage proposal and the news that they were expecting a baby together.

Chyna also shares her first child, King Cairo, with rapper Tyga, who, at the time was dating Rob’s younger sister, Kylie. Essentially, tensions were high and it was a while before the family would accept her.

However, the romance didn’t last long, and after welcoming daughter Dream Kardashian in late 2016, they officially called it off in 2017. And this was only the start of the messy ride that was to come for the Kardashian family.

Why did Blac Chyna sue the Kardashians for $100 million?

While the two were still “going strong,” or whatever that means, they garnered their own E! reality show, Rob & Chyna. After the show was renewed for Season 2, the duo had split and the network told Variety it would be put on hold as they wanted to “follow the [Kardashian] family’s lead” on any next steps, per Us Weekly. In the end, the show was killed and never returned for a second season.

Meanwhile, Chyna blamed the family for the show’s cancellation and ultimately filed a lawsuit on the grounds of “defamation, intentional interference with contract, and intentional interference,” according to Us Weekly.

Who won the lawsuit between Blac Chyna and the Kardashians?

Last spring, the case went to court where the family members named in the suit as well as Rob testified against Chyna. Kris’ boyfriend Corey Gamble told the court that he witnessed Chyna hit Rob, and it also came to light that she had held a gun to his head, which she claimed was a “joke.”

Evidently, the Met Gala gods were looking down on the family as just hours before the event, it was announced that the Kardashian family had won the case and they would not owe Chyna any damages.

Watch it all unfold as The Kardashians airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. PT and Thursdays at midnight ET on Hulu.
