But She-Hulk’s also introducing some major players who will surely have a massive impact on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There’s She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany), duh, and Titania (Jameela Jamil) â and now there’s Madisynn. Yes, Madiysnn. What, you think that name’s ridiculous but Harry Styles playing a guy named Starfox isn’t? Heroes come in all forms, and Madisynn is just the latest in a long line of humans who rise to meet the moment! Spoilers ahead for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law!
Okay, actually Madisynn is a twenty-something girl who is perpetually tipsy and somehow unfazed by all of the supernatural situations she keeps falling into â sometimes literally falling into. So, who is Madisynn and â more importantly â who plays Madisynn? Here’s everything you need to know about Marvel’s latest breakout star.
Who is Madisynn?
She’s Madisynn, spelled with two n’s and one y, but not where you think. She’s a total civilian with no super powers; she just happened to be in the wrong place (a lame analogue of Los Angeles’s Magic Castle) at the wrong time (right when the magician-in-residence has decided to incorporate one of the Sorcerer Supreme’s teleporting Sling Rings into his act). When Wong (Benedict Wong) tries to get a cease and desist to stop the amateur from using dangerous magic in his stage show, Madisynn becomes a totally clutch witness.
Who is Madisynn in the comics?
Madisynn is a singular entity. There was no Madisynn before Madisynn, and there can only be one Madisynn after Madisynn â and she’s Madisynn. What I mean is, Madisynn was created for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and while she doesn’t exist in the comics, every single comic writer working for Marvel would be foolish to not incorporate Madisynn into their stories ASAP.
Who plays Madisynn in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law?
Madisynn is played by Patty Guggenheim, an actress who seems to be no stranger to playing Madisynns by many other names. She played Bachelorette #1 on Reno 911! in 2020, Samanthee in an episode of NBC’s Mr. Mayor, Kelci in a 2020 episode of Superstore, and Meegan in two episodes of the ABC sitcom Splitting Up Together. As for regular roles, Guggenheim was one of the stars of Pop TV’s comedy series Florida Girls, which was critically-acclaimed but only lasted a season. Guggenheim also voiced Patty Mime on Crackle’s SuperMansion (which was co-created by Zeb Wells, a writer on She-Hulk).
It should come as no surprise that Guggenheim has an extensive comedy background, having come up through the Groundlings in Los Angeles and earning a spot in the legendary comedy troupe’s main company.
