Wordle is known for occasionally pushing players to the limit in order to solve its puzzles, fortunately Newsweek is on hand to help those stumped with today’s brain teaser.

Wordle is a puzzle game where players are given six attempts to solve a random five-letter word.

The rules of the game are simple, players use a color-coded system in order to work out what the day’s word is and input five letters into the six rows.

A green tile indicates the letter selected is correct and is in the right place, a yellow one means the letter is right but in the wrong place while a gray one is an indicator that the letter is not in the word at all.

Wordle‘s creator Josh Wardle released the game to the public in October 2021 after wanting to make a game that he and his partner could enjoy playing.

When it first went live, Wordle started with a humble 90 players on November 1 2021, but has gone on to become a globe-spanning phenomenon with millions taking part every day.

Wardle previously told Newsweek he was intrigued to find his puzzle game first became popular in New Zealand.

He said: “For obvious reasons, Wordle has mostly been popular in English-speaking countries. After all, it is a language-based game.

“When it launched, it actually took hold in New Zealand first…which is something I’ve never experienced before.

“The Twittersphere over there is quite small, so everyone tends to be rather interconnected. That means if one person shares something, a lot of others are likely to see it as well, which is how Wordle gained such momentum.”

As Wordle grew into a smash hit success, the New York Times stepped in to buy the game for an undisclosed seven-figure sum back in January. It has, however, remained free to play.

For those who want to know the answer to today’s word puzzle, please continue reading until the end of the article.
