Another day brings a new Wordle brain teaser, and as always there may be some who are struggling to guess today’s answer.

The online puzzle game, in which users have to guess a five-letter word and told if they have the correct letters by way of green and yellow grids, currently has tens of millions of daily users. The game had only around 90 users playing every day in October 2021.

Each person may have their own strategy for how they can solve the word puzzle.

Some may like to guess a five-letter word with as many vowels as possible straight away in order to help narrow down the options. Others may pick words with lots of commonly used consonants.

The game, created by Josh Wardle, was sold to The New York Times Company in January 2022 for an undisclosed a seven-figure sum.

In an interview with TechCrunch in January, Wardle said the simple game he originally created just for his partner is the same one that people across the world are now playing.

“What I built [at the start] is the game that everyone is playing today,” Wardle said. “It was definitely not the intention when I started.”

Wardle even admitted that sometimes he struggled to guess the correct word while playing his own game.

“I feel smart when I get a Wordle, even though I made the game,” he said.

‘Wordle’ #430 Tips and Clues for Tuesday, August 23

Hint #2 The first and third letters are less commonly used consonants.

Hint #3 Synonyms for today’s answer include “entwine,” “twist” and “interlace.”

Hint #4 If you guess the word “owner,” you will have almost all the correct letters, but not necessarily in the right order.

Hint #5 Merriam-Webster defines today’s word as “to form (cloth) by interlacing strands (as of yarn)” or “to make (something, such as a basket) by intertwining.”

‘Wordle’ #430 Answer for Tuesday, August 23

The answer to today’s Wordle is “woven.”

Today’s Wordle may have stumped a few, seeing as two of the letters aren’t among the more commonly used ones.

The next Wordle puzzle will be available at 7 p.m. ET, when the daily update occurs.
