It’s no “Full House” without him — but the late Bob Saget still has a way of uniting loved ones, even in his absence.
John Stamos, 58, took to Instagram Live on Friday to reflect on Saget’s memory with former “Full House” cast mate Lori Loughlin, as well as John Mayer and comedian Jeff Ross. All four counted themselves among the actor’s many longtime friends.
“He was everyone’s dad, he was part of everyone’s childhood … It’s still hard for me to believe that Bob is gone,” said Loughlin, 57, at one point during the virtual get-together, according to People’s recap of the livestream.
The panel coincided with Netflix’s release of “Dirty Daddy: The Bob Saget Tribute,” which documents a memorial event filmed at the Comedy Store in Los Angeles some three weeks after Saget’s Jan. 9 death.
The idea for the more formal gathering, which took place on Jan. 30, took root after a handful of Saget’s comedian friends including Dave Chapelle, Marc Maron and Seth Green — plus Mayer — staged what Ross later described in an Instagram caption as a “small impromptu punk rock shiva” at the Comedy Store following the “Fuller House” star’s funeral on Jan. 14.
Saget passed away unexpectedly in January of this year at age 65 after sustaining a head injury that the Orange Country medical examiner’s report concluded was most likely the result of blunt trauma caused by an accidental fall. He was found unresponsive in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando Grande Lakes, where he was staying following a stand-up performance in Jacksonville, Fla.
