Scream Queens may be years in the past, but series star Glen Powell will never forget the short-lived horror hit, thanks to a memorable gift from costar Jamie Lee Curtis. Powell revealed the NSFW present Curtis gave him as a wrap gift, telling James Corden during a Monday visit to The Late Late Show that the gift was one of the best he’s received.
Powell, who starred as frat bro Chad Radwell on Scream Queens, said he was given a wrap gift from Curtis, who played Dean Cathy Munsch, after the two filmed a sex scene together.
“I think my favorite wrap gift that I’ve gotten was [from] Jamie Lee Curtis, when I did a show called Scream Queens. My first scene on the show is, we’re in bed, it’s like a sex scene between the two of us,” Powell told Corden. “In the middle of it, she asks me, have you seen the movie Perfect? And I was like, ‘No.’ She’s like, ‘You should watch Perfect.’”
Perfect, which was released in 1985, stars Curtis as a workout instructor who falls in love with a journalist (John Travolta) who is writing a story about the fitness club where she works.
Powell said Curtis “kept following up with me about watching Perfect,” and eventually made sure he had his very own copy — along with an extra, personalized present.
“One thing she did give me is a not-safe-for-work sort of contraception with her face on it,” Powell shared. “The other thing was the DVD of Perfect.”
Corden was more interested in the NSFW half of the gift, telling Powell, “Hang on — the DVD is less interesting. She gave you a condom with her face on it?” While Powell did not clarify, he told Corden, “She said, ‘Thanks for the ride of a lifetime.’”
Scream Queens lasted just two seasons on FOX before coming to an end in 2016. Along with Powell and Curtis, the Ryan Murphy series also starred Emma Roberts, Abigail Breslin, Billie Lourd, Lea Michele and Niecy Nash.
