Pamela Anderson figured out a way to get some quality time with canines while living across the country from her own pets.
The actor has reportedly been moonlighting as a dog walker during her stay in New York City after moving to the East Coast to star as Roxie Hart in Chicago on Broadway. A source close to Anderson told TMZ that she wasn’t able to bring her four dogs with her while living in the city during her eight-week run in the musical, but was still taking daily walks in Central Park. Those strolls apparently gave her the idea to ask her assistant if he knew anyone in the city who might be in need of a dog walker. Anderson’s assistant happened to have a friend with an Irish Setter named Dash who could use some extra outdoor time and Anderson was glad to help them out. The insider said that Dash’s owners were shocked, however, when they realized the Baywatch star would be their new dog walker, but she’s apparently been walking him every day now for the last three weeks.
This career move makes a lot of sense for Anderson who has long been an outspoken animal lover and PETA advocate. Back in March, she also told the New York Post that after moving to Manhattan from her remote ranch on Vancouver Island, Canada, she was trying to get into the rhythm of city life, starting by taking daily jogs in Central Park undercover. She explained, “That’s how I get my dose of dogs every day, because my dogs couldn’t come to New York.” But thankfully, Anderson will be reunited with her beloved pets in the very near future as her stint on Broadway is scheduled to come to an end on the first week of June. Until then, she’ll have Dash to keep her company.
The actor also told the Post that despite being surrounded by some of the world’s best shopping, she’s been able to stop herself from perusing Fifth Avenue, relying on her “archives” of vintage designer goods instead. “I just started looking around and Brandon [Lee, Anderson’s son] was like, ‘No mom, all your stuff from the ’90s is in style now. Just go shop in your closet,’” she explained. “I’ll probably never shop in a store again.”
