Calling all reality TV fans, you can now get paid thousands a year just to watch dating shows, which let’s be honest is probably what you’ll be doing with your evenings anyway.

If you’ve been glued to your screen watching Too Hot to Handle, Season 3, then consider applying to become the latest “Dating Show Dissector.”

Dating app POM, aka “Power of Music,” which connects singletons based on their taste in tunes, is on the look-out for a reality TV fan who can sit through stints of Love Island USA and The Bachelor—for $135 an hour.

The idea is for the dating show aficionado to pinpoint where contestants are going wrong on their quest for love, to help singletons not to make the same mistake.

The pearls of wisdom will be shared on the app and their social media channels, as a guide to the ultimate “dos and don’t of dating.”

“Our ideal candidate isn’t someone that loves reality TV simply for the gossip and drama but someone who really enjoys these kinds of shows for the insight it gives into human behaviour, especially when it comes to dating,” the job site said.

Applicants need to possess good levels of English, although they stressed having “talent and passion” is more important than being a professional writer.

Explaining more about the role, the job ad said: “The app hopes to find an enthusiastic dating show fan to write content about upcoming dating shows in 2022, like Too Hot to Handle, The Cabins and Love Island, following their boom in popularity over recent years.”

It was confirmed to Newsweek the job is remote and open to U.S. residents, who will be paid $135 an hour.

The team estimates the successful candidate will watch around seven hours of TV each week, working out to around $945 a week, and roughly $45,000 a year.

Vihan Patel, founder of POM, said: “Dating shows are clearly no longer just a guilty pleasure—everyone seems to be watching them!

“We thought it would be a great idea to take everyone’s favourite TV genre and turn it into some valuable life lessons and amazing content for our users.

“What’s also really exciting about this role is that we’re not looking for someone with masses of experience. What’s important is that our new hire brings the right level of passion and vibe to the team.

“Plus, we think this is the perfect job to start early 2022 with; people can get cosy and get paid for something they might already be doing for free!”

Anyone applying needs to do so by January 28 and be over 18. To apply, click here.
