On a recent United Airlines flight to Los Angeles, a TikTok user filmed a tantrum thrown by a fellow passenger who was eventually removed from the flight.
TikTok user @starcadearcade, which typically posts VR and gaming related content, appears to be sitting in the row in front of the disgruntled passenger.
At first, the unidentified passenger is wearing his mask while screaming at someone out of the frame.
“Take me off, I don’t give a f**ck, I didn’t even want to go to Cali,” the man screams while taking his mask off.
While it’s unclear what events took place before the camera started rolling, in a follow-up video @starcadearcade said the man was asked multiple times to hang up his phone and keep his mask on.
He then starts threatening someone who appeared to be the flight attendant standing in front of the rows and off-camera.
“I will find your name, date of birth, and address, I will know your social security number before I get off this plane. On my daughter. On that same baby that you seen me on the phone with,” he said.
He then gets out of his seat and approaches the flight attendant. Another person, who appears to be another passenger, tries to step in and break it up.
“Mind your business, cause I will break your neck,” the man said to the bystander.
At one point the camera drops, which the poster explained in a follow up video is from when the man takes his phone and yells at him for filming. He said the man is threatening him to erase the footage. The follow up video shows footage taken from a few rows back of when the man confronts the TikTok poster.
He said authorities eventually walked onto the flight and escorted the passenger off.
Like all commercial flights, United Airlines requires all passengers over the age of two to wear a mask for the duration of the flight.
Similar events over mask compliance have occurred on numerous flights over the past few months.
In September, a group of people were escorted off a flight after a lengthy dispute over masking, Newsweek previously reported. When the non-complaint passengers were leaving the plane, a group of passengers started singing lyrics from the 1969 song “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye” by Steam. Earlier in the month, a flight was diverted due to a group of passengers who refused to follow mask rules while in flight, Newsweek also reported.
Newsweek contacted United Airlines and @starcadearcade but neither responded in time for publication
