It was a purrr-fect landing.
A black cat escaped injury after leaping from the fifth floor window of a burning apartment in Chicago on Thursday.
The jarring jump to safety was captured on video by a Chicago Fire Department worker filming the exterior of a blaze as smoke-eaters battled the flames inside.
With black smoke billowing out the windows, the fearless feline can be seen approaching the opening before taking the leap.
As onlookers gasp, the cat clears a wall and lands on all fours on the grass before bouncing up running away, the video shows.
Fire department spokesman Larry Langford said the cat was not injured.
“It went under my car and hid until she felt better after a couple of minutes and came out and tried to scale the wall to get back in,” he said.
