A man has been arrested for murder after admitting he intentionally set fire to a homeless guy over a dispute about a scooter, police and sources said Sunday.
Bronx resident Errol Stephenson, 28, was arrested Saturday in Mount Vernon in Westchester County after telling NYPD detectives he dosed Patrick Winkler with gasoline and set him on fire in September because the victim stole his scooter in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, Brooklyn, authorities and police sources said.
Winkler, who was living in a Manhattan shelter, suffered third-degree burns over 90 percent of his body, police said.
The 46-year-old victim died from his injuries about a month after the attack.
Stephenson is charged with second-degree murder, authorities said.
